## Scope and sources

The published dataset covers 9 issuers and 54 climate, energy and nuclear-policy shareholder proposals in the 2024–2025 AGM seasons. It is a selected coverage set, not a complete inventory of Japanese shareholder proposals.

The primary vote source is the issuer’s EDINET extraordinary report (臨時報告書; document type 180). Proposal titles and formal shareholder-proposer counts may come from issuer convocation notices. NGO disclosures provide secondary corroboration. Every proposal page links to its original evidence, document ID and filing date.

## Rates, basis and quality

- Support rates reproduce company-disclosed percentages; they are not recalculated. Issuer denominators differ, so sorting by rate is an exploration tool, not a ranking on a common basis.
- value_status: confirmed = checked against the primary vote filing; estimated = approximate secondary figure; unknown = not established; not_applicable = no applicable vote.
- support_rate_basis: identifies the recorded basis, including company_disclosed. Read the basis note for the issuer’s denominator definition.
- Human-checked evidence and machine extraction are separate. A confirmed vote record does not mean every linked document was reviewed by a person. Current human-checked vote coverage: 27/54 (50%).
- Unchecked LLM-only vote extractions cannot support confirmed production comparisons. CDP A-list membership is withheld until a human-checked official primary CDP source is linked; candidate values are not published as established facts.
- Formal legal proposers are shareholders. Civil-society organizations listed as involved are not thereby identified as the legal proposers.

## Interpretation

No composite scores, rankings, ratings, investment advice or causal claims are produced. Year-over-year deltas describe the same proposal theme only when both rates are confirmed with a known basis. Votes do not establish investor motives or transition-risk pricing.
